April 2010 - Our playground upgrades have commenced.

These works are anticipated to take approx: 5 weeks to complete. The Centre is buzzing with landscapers and their landscaping equipment. Our children are enthusitically watching with curiosty as they see their new play spaces evolve. Please see our new playground designs - view here >>

November 2009 - Centre was awarded a Community Partnership Grant from Moreland City Council.

Our Centre applied for a grant to assist us in redesigning and upgrading both our main and babies' playgrounds. Planning for this project commenced late in 2007. The cost of this project is in the vicinity of $70,000. Moreland City Council is contributing $30,000 towards this project.

Latest News. November 2009 - Accreditation Review.

The Centre underwent an Accreditation Review of our policies and practices by the National Accreditation Council of Australia, Canberra, ACT. Our Centre is happy to report that we received a "High Quality" rating in all 7 Principals covered by Accreditation.

January 2009 - Centre underwent transition over to the new Child Care Management System (CCMS) for Long Day Care Services.

This is a national child care system that will bring all approved child care services on line. Services will report your child care data to the Dept. of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) via the internet to allow calculation and payment of Child Care Benefit (CCB) fee reductions.

May 2008 - Centre receives Community Water Grant

The centre received a grant from The Aust. Govt. Water Fund - "Community Water Grants - Stage 2" to implement water saving incentives. In May this year Anne Sgro had a water tank (3,000 ltr) installed that feeds into our washing machine, flow restictors installed to all taps, and all toilet cisterns replaced with dual flush. Total Grant amount was $ 14,993.

08/05/06 - 21st Birthday Party A Resounding Success

Saturday the 6th May saw a massive turnout at the Anne Sgro 21st Birthday Party. Activities ranged from sponge wars to the most amazing face-painting ever seen, from special pirate performances to surprise visits from the Fire Brigade. A very special thank you to all the parents, friends  and staff who all donated their time, effort and supplies to make the day extra special.

24/03/06 - Anne Sgro 21st Birthday Party

Anne Sgro is turning 21 and we're having a party to celebrate. On Saturday 6th May, 2006, we would like to bring together all our children both past and present, to celebrate this very happy occassion. The event is planned to go from 10am to 1pm and a range of activities and performances have been planned to entertain both children and parents alike. If you have something you can offer the centre on the day, be it cooking skills through to jumping castles, we would love to here from you.

23/03/06 - New Website Launched For Anne Sgro

As you can see, our new website is now officially "online." We will be using this resource to keep all our parents informed on centre matters, charity drives, staff announcements as well as other important news and achievements. We will be asking you for an email address to add to your parent records so we can keep you all informed of the latest goings on at Anne Sgro. Committee news will also be regularly updated here (see left).
